About us

What is a Church?

Our Core Values

The pillars that shape us.

Our church is built on the belief that the Bible is the inerrant and infallible Word of God. We are saved by faith alone, and that faith comes from hearing the Word of Christ. Therefore, the ministry of the Word is at the heart of all we do. Our mission is to carry forward the work of redemption, empowered by the Holy Spirit, through evangelism, discipleship, and faith.

Biblical Truth

The Bible is our foundation. We uphold its authority, seeking to live according to its teachings and be transformed by its message.

Servant Hearts

Our faith compels us to share God's love with our neighbors. We actively seek opportunities to serve others, both within our church family and in the wider community.

Truth Driven

We believe in the power of God's Word and are committed to faithfully preaching the Gospel, sharing its truths with clarity and conviction.

Our Beliefs

01 Jesus

We exist to exalt the name of Jesus Christ above all (Philippians 1:20). Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s redemptive promises and the cornerstone of faith. Christ’s life, death, and resurrection are the culmination of God’s plan to restore humanity.

02 The Bible

We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testament are the inspired Word of God, inerrant and infallible, and the ultimate guide for faith and life.

03 Salvation

Salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ. Faith comes from hearing the Word of Christ (Romans 10:17), therefore teaching and preaching of Scripture is central to all we do.

04 The Church

The Church is the living body of Christ, made up of believers who are called to love one another as Christ loved us (John 13:34), extending grace and forgiveness to all. The church is to be unified in faith and to participate in spreading the gospel.

05 Christian Life

In response to God’s grace, we emphasize living a holy and obedient life through regular in-depth study of Scripture that is essential for spiritual growth and understanding God’s will. Through this, we recognize our own flaws and approach God and others with humility.

Huisun Rev. Abraham Park
Founder

Rev. Abraham Park’s honorary name Huisun (暉宣) means to “spread the light.” As such, this name contains the hope that the true light, the gospel of Jesus Christ, will be widely known and proclaimed to the souls throughout the world.

Rev. Dr. Abraham Park (1928–2014) was a pastor, theologian, and author who built his ministry on the belief that the Bible is the living and absolute Word of God. He founded Pyungkang Cheil Church in Seoul, which has grown into a global network of over 300 churches, including our own, Evergreen Presbyterian Church in New York. His ministry focused on making the Bible accessible and central to faith and his profound understanding of God’s Word led to the History of Redemption book series, which continues to inspire believers worldwide.

“There is hope in each individual, our nation, and our church while our Living God speaks to us– because our God is a personal God who speaks to us.”

–– Rev. Abraham Park
